According to Globo Esporte, Brazilian Football Confederation President Samir Saud expressed his opposition to FIFA's proposal in Teresina, stating that CONMEBOL would reach a consensus on the issue.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino's controversial proposal has suffered a major setback. The plan, which aimed to establish "FIFA Forward Enterprise" to raise approximately $4.2 billion by selling minority stakes in events such as the World Cup to private investors, was met with strong opposition from UEFA, which criticized its lack of transparency and argued that football governance should not be treated as a commercial asset. The criticism quickly escalated, with numerous football associations, unions, and FIFA insiders joining the opposition.
Under immense pressure, Infantino has been forced to abandon the plan. However, the political crisis continues, with UEFA pushing for opposition against Infantino and some European football associations withdrawing their support for his re-election.
Brazilian Football Confederation President Samir Saud, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Piauí State Football Development Center, also expressed his opposition, saying he "does not think this is a good thing" and that he would make a unified decision with CONMEBOL.
