Jordanian Football Federation President Prince Ali bin Hussein revealed that they suddenly received payments owed by FIFA for eight months. The Jordanian Football Federation President, who had previously publicly criticized FIFA for "extortion," also took this opportunity to reiterate his opposition to Gianni Infantino's re-election as FIFA president.
Prince Ali bin Hussein stated:
We thank FIFA for suddenly releasing this morning the payments owed to our players and coaching staff after Jordan's national team advanced to the final of the Qatar Arab Cup last December.
This funding should have been in place eight months ago.
While this is a positive development for our players, it does not change the serious concerns within the football community about the FIFA leadership, nor can it erase the treatment that member associations have suffered in the past.
This precisely reflects the difficulties we all face, difficulties that are often closely related to the FIFA presidential election. This will not change my clear stance on the FIFA leadership: neither I nor my football association will endorse President Infantino, nor will we vote for him in the election.
