Enzo Fernandes' future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain. According to London Football, Chelsea's management must finalize Fernandes' future before the first round of the new Premier League season.

Despite Real Madrid's withdrawal from the race for the 25-year-old midfielder, Enzo Fernandez's future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.

London Football understands that Enzo Fernandes told Stamford Bridge management in late May that he wanted to leave. Chelsea subsequently set a £120 million price tag on the Argentine international. Chelsea signed him from Benfica for £106 million in February 2023.

In early July, Real Madrid issued a statement firmly denying that they had attempted to sign Enzo Fernandez, either directly or through intermediaries. Real Madrid also stated that while they "have the utmost respect for the player," they "have no intention of pursuing such a move."

The Spanish giants later stated that they had an "excellent relationship" with Chelsea, mentioning the swift completion of the Marcos Alonso deal early in the World Cup season. Enzo Fernandez has six years remaining on his contract with the Blues, but he has never publicly expressed a desire to leave; instead, it is his agent, Javier Pastore, who has been constantly generating buzz.

Unless Florentino Pérez or José Mourinho change their minds and rejoin the race for the midfielder, the Argentine midfielder has virtually no suitors. However, his future in West London remains uncertain, a question that will need to be resolved in the next two weeks or so.

Although the transfer window doesn't close until 11 pm on Tuesday, September 1st, the management must complete most of their work before Chelsea's match against Fulham on Monday, August 24th. By the first round of the new Premier League season, Alonso must have already established the core framework of the team.

If Enzo Fernandez changes agents, asks for forgiveness, regains the trust of his teammates and new coach, and perhaps even signs a new contract to prove his loyalty, he could undoubtedly return to the core of the team.

Similarly, if he continues to stubbornly insist on not doing the aforementioned things, the Chelsea manager will face a disgruntled player, which could affect the dressing room. Alonso shouldn't be forced to deal with, or even resolve, a problem that wasn't his fault.
