I can also imagine that he will have the opportunity to become the head coach of the German national team at some point in his coaching career. However, that will be many years away."
In post-World Cup discussions, Stuttgart coach Uli Hoeneß was not considered by the German Football Association (DFB). Werler stated, "We never considered that possibility because we knew early on that we would reach an agreement with the new German national team coach." The DFB official, who also chairs the supervisory board, added that Jürgen Klopp is "the most suitable candidate for the next few years." Furthermore, Werler hopes Hoeneß can continue his success at Stuttgart and coach for as long as possible. He said, "The 2025 German Cup title and the second Champions League qualification in three years are proof of his valuable work."
